When I assumed the role of Church Treasurer (volunteer) several years ago, I had no experience, very little direction, and it had been decades since I had taken an accounting class. I was uneasy with a number of things, most significantly running payroll and reporting payroll to the State and Federal governments. Vera has not only guided us to set up correct accounting practices, but she has been available when I have questions or when I make a mistake. She meets with me on a quarterly basis to review my work for the previous three months and to answer questions that have accumulated. She is available in between these meetings to resolve issues that can't wait for the quarter to end. She is valuable to us because she not only knows accounting, but she knows Quickbooks as well. She communicates well and emails me a review of the things we have discussed.
